Highland One Stop Shop officially opened

It has been an extra special World Autism Awareness Day as we have been able to officially open our Highland One Stop Shop service today in Inverness.

As part of the Scottish Government’s autism strategy, One Stop Shop services, based on our original Number 6 One Stop Shop model are being rolled out across Scotland. Autism Initiatives Scotland is operating the Highland One Stop Shop which will support people aged 16 and over with autism from across the Highland region.

The service aims to be user led, meaning that the services and support it provides will be developed with direct input from the people using the service.

It is the first service for adults with autism in the region. At today’s launch over 100 people came to find out more so we are very excited to see how we can meet the support needs of people with autism in the Highlands.
